Nourished by prestigious experiments lived separately with “Zawinul Syndicate”, Steve Coleman, Matthias Rüegg or Dave Liebmann, these four musicians of international fame offer an original formula around generous, intuitive and deep polyrhythmic structures. The solid and interactive rhythm takes as a starting point the expressive play of the trombone to give rise to a colourful and creative music.
Geoffroy de Masure develops a warm-hearted and complex play and advantageously growing the expressive palette of the trombone. His interest for rhythm and its proportions, manifests itself in compositions in sophisticated concepts. Linley Marthe brings his splendid sonority, a deep groove endowed with a remarkable natural ease. His influence, combined by the jazz and by African music, absolutely makes him a special musician to (re)discover. Chander Sardjoe is acknowledged for his singularity of an interactive and polyrhythmic play, displaying a high level of skill during the exercise of a mathematical approach to intuitive improvisation. A full and powerful sound and an amazing capacity to surf with big skill todays complex waves of music of afro-American or carnatic tradition. Jean-Christophe Cholet occupies the colorist's habitual place, knowing how to meddle in the labyrinth of rich and ambitious musical proposals and so giving, by a controlled and original punctuation, all space necessary for this appealing architecture.
